GIOVANNI RICCÒ

About
Hi, I’m Giovanni Ricco, an Italian photographer and videographer based in Valencia, Spain.
Originally from Vignola, Italy, I’ve been drawn to narrative and documentary photography from a young age, shaped by early travels and a curiosity for people, places, and culture.
Since earning my BA in Fine Art Photography, I’ve worked professionally in the field since 2017, helping brands, institutions, and creatives communicate through strong, intentional visual content from photography to video.
I’m also the founder of Espai Batit, a coworking space and studio in Valencia designed to support both established and emerging photographers.
My personal work focuses on everyday urban and suburban landscapes including architecture, public spaces, and the people who move through them. I use contemporary photography to document and analyze how space, routine, and context shape visual narratives.
Lately, I’ve been approaching photography as a tool for research, documentation, and critical observation rather than just image-making. This method allows me to explore the relationship between people and place through a visual language grounded in contemporary landscape photography and visual studies.
Over the years, I’ve worked with brands, design studios, creative agencies, start-ups, and local businesses, helping them communicate through clear, effective visual content. From photography to videography to editorial content, I focus on building strong narratives that align with each client’s identity and goals.
My approach blends art direction, design thinking, and visual storytelling, whether it’s for a campaign, a corporate video, or content for digital platforms.
